For the woman who records it, hears it back once, and deletes it before she can change her mind.
It's twenty to eleven at night and the house has gone quiet enough. The microphone is on the kitchen table, wrapped in a tea towel to stop it picking up the hum from the fridge, with your phone propped against the sugar tin.
You read four verses and then say about ninety seconds of your own, which is the part that took you an hour this afternoon while you were driving. You're good at this. The pacing is right, you don't rush the hard line, and you leave a gap where a gap belongs.
Then you hear it back once, with your thumb already over the button, and you delete it. That's the fourteenth. You know it's the fourteenth because you count them, which is its own small piece of evidence about what is actually going on here.
A tea towel wrapped around a microphone is not modesty and it is not consideration for the neighbors, it is fear of being heard clearly, answered here as fear. Scripture says God has already searched you and known you completely, and the Holy Spirit is not impatient with a woman frightened of being heard.

Naming It Properly
Let's get this right, because the wrong name for a fear is part of what keeps it running.
You are not afraid that the recording is bad. You have a fairly accurate ear and you know the fourteenth was good. You could point to the exact second where it landed, and you deleted it anyway, about forty seconds later.
What you're afraid of is nine known women hearing your voice in their own kitchens with nobody watching their faces. Each of them forming a small private response you will never see and can never answer. The recording is fine. The nine unseen reactions are the thing.
You are afraid of a response you cannot watch, not of a performance you cannot give. The written Word says God has searched you, knows your sitting down, knows your rising up, while the Holy Spirit works in the part of you that cannot bear an unanswerable silence.
Say it like that and most of the usual advice falls away. Nobody needs to tell you the recording is good enough. That was never the missing piece.
What Deleting It Buys You
The delete button does something real, and it deserves honesty rather than a scolding.
While it's deleted, there is no private reaction anywhere in the world to a voice that is yours. Nine women are not thinking anything about you. That's a genuine peace and it arrives instantly, which is exactly why the thumb is already over the button before the playback ends.
Here's the other column. Fourteen recordings means fourteen evenings of real work and an hour in a car thinking it through. It also means nine women who have not heard four verses and ninety seconds, several of whom are having a much harder year than they mention on a Sunday.
The peace is real, it is instant, and it is being bought from somebody else's account. Scripture puts your standing in what God knows of you rather than in what nine people privately conclude, and the Holy Spirit carries a word further than a recording ever could.
Nothing here asks you to put anything in public, start a channel, or become a person who enjoys this. Nine women who already know you is the whole of the ask.
What Sending One Would Actually Cost
Count the risk plainly, because the fear has never once been made to show its arithmetic.
If you send the fifteenth, here's the honest range. Four reply with something warm and generic, which tells you nothing and is still kind. Three do not reply at all, because people are busy, and one of those three will go back to it twice in her car. One says something about the pacing. One doesn't open it for three weeks.
That's it. That's the whole spread. There is no version where nine women revise their view of your character over ninety seconds, which is what the fear keeps implying and has never justified.
Look at the one you'd find hardest, which is the three who say nothing. Silence from a woman who is busy means she is busy. It has never once meant she listened, weighed you, and decided against you, though that is the story the quiet tells at eleven at night in a kitchen with the fridge humming.
The fourteen deleted recordings were all deleted to avoid that silence. Not to avoid criticism, which you could take, and have taken before. To avoid a quiet you could not read, which is a different fear and a much older one.
You have already been concluded about by these nine women, and ninety seconds will not revise it. The written Word says the One who searches you is acquainted with all your ways, and the Holy Spirit keeps your worth where God set it rather than where a silent message thread puts it.
Thou Hast Searched Me and Known Me
There's a psalm that takes the fear of being known entirely seriously and then walks straight through it.
> O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. > Psalm 139:1-3 (KJV)
Read how complete it is. Sitting down, standing up, the thought while it's still forming, the path, the lying down at the end of the day. There is no unexamined version of you anywhere, and no fourteenth recording He has not already heard.
Now set nine women beside that. The most any of them can do is hear ninety seconds and form a partial impression from a fragment. God has the whole, including the hour in the car and the thumb over the button, and He has never once withdrawn.
You have already been completely exposed to the only One qualified to judge, and it ended in love. The written Word says He is acquainted with all your ways, and the Holy Spirit makes that knowledge a floor to stand on rather than a thing to dread.
That is the odd relief in it. The worst exposure available has already happened, in full, with nothing withheld, and the verdict came back as love. Every smaller exposure after that is a repeat of a matter already settled.
Declare this over yourself
You are in Christ and Christ is in you, so what follows is not a claim made out of your own authority. It is agreement, said back to God in His own words, while the Holy Spirit carries it. How He orders the rest of it is His to decide, and He answers in His own way and in His own time.
Said by somebody already covered, not by somebody hoping to be. What nine women hear, and what they make of it, is God's.
I am not too much and I am not too little, and being heard imperfectly does not disqualify me. The written Word of God says He has searched me and known me, my sitting down and my rising up and all my ways, so the whole of me is already open to the One who counts. A quiet I cannot read is not a verdict against me. The Holy Spirit carries what is true further than my voice reaches, and He is at this table tonight. My fear is real, it is not vanity, and it does not get to keep deleting my work. Nothing about me is news to Him. I take one breath, and every reaction is God's.
